I just finished reading A Scanner Darkly a few days ago. I’ve been habitually checking every torrent site every 10 minutes for the movie. I don’t feel like driving 4+ hours to see it, or waiting patiently.

The Burger King “King” commercials were a work of genius. The only commercials that I hold in higher esteem would be the older quiznos commercials.

Computers only do what you tell them to do. Except when you’re not watching.

I refuse to follow that link. I know exactly what it’ll lead me to, and I’d rather not have nightmares tonight.
And I told my computer NOT to update on its own. When did it decide to change the setting? How come I wasn’t informed?! There’s a reason I keep clicking the “Don’t Remind Me Again” button. Gr. Argh.

As far as killing windows updates….you could try this.

Start/Run type “gpedit.msc” and push enter. Under Computer Configuration click on Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update. Double click on Configure Automatic Updates, select Disabled, then click ok. If windows still updates automatically after that, then you need an exorcist, not a technician. The only way you SHOULD get updates then, is by visiting the windows update website.

I’m not sure if that will work under windows xp home……being a 1337 pirate I refuse to use such nonsense.
