You can come live with us among the has beens and the addicts.

Apparently several days ago I signed up for a Gather account. I have no idea when or why I signed up at this website, nor do I know what the website even is. What’s its purpose? What can I do with my Gather account? And, more importantly, why did I think I needed it and how did I get there? It looks too intelligent for me.

Um.
My fabulous mix CD for Spring will be mailed out this week. That’s this week. If you want in, speak now or forever hold your peace. Don’t forget to check out the TD&Co. page for more info.

Now. As usual, I have a musical rant or ramble: THE FRATELLIS. I love them. I’ve been trying to compare them to someone or something for a week or so, and have finally come up with: Jet meets the Beatles if the Beatles were remastered and on speed. Seriously, it’s that good. But they’re Scottish. Anyway, I think every song on their debut Costello Music is a direct hit. We’re talking top-of-your-lungs-singing, dancing-in-your-seat hit. Plus, the album was only $8.64 plus tax from Wal-Mart, your unfriendly neighborhood necessary evil. Oh, and let’s pretend there never was an iPod commercial. Those things make me feel cheap and unoriginal.
If dismarum wasn’t a procrastinator, you’d have one of their songs to listen to as part of the Music Monday yesterday. Of course, if she wasn’t a procrastinator, she wouldn’t fit in with the rest of the TD crew. So I guess that’s the jane calling the dismarum a kettle. Or a pot. Or black. Or a black kettle pot. The end.

Let’s talk about twitter. Twitter is something that the wonderful Spif has been hounding me to join for awhile now. So finally, just for him because we’re cool like that, I decided to join. I haven’t found much use for it yet, but I’ve read articles from people who have, so I’ve stuck around in wait for something magical to happen. So the point of all this is maybe you should join and we can all respond to each other and make something magical happen on our own. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to update the damn thing, though. It seems Spif has some fantastic Mac updater thing. I didn’t even know he had a Mac. Sometimes I wonder if I should get a Mac. This paragraph just got completely off track.

I think I need a better video card.

Peace, love, and bands that use words like “blagger.”

I love my macbook and would contemplate switching to the Mac as my main machine but I like building my computers and playing the games too much. The biggest challenge for myself was just learning the operating system, and finding windows-equivalent programs.

Is anyone really that interested in what I’m doing at any given moment? I barely keep my facebook status updated with any serious statuses (statusii?). If enough people want me to, I will create an account; w00t for peer pressure. Ironically enough, no amount of peer pressure will force me create a myspace account.

    Buy this video card:
(Ok, I’m pretty sure akismet smacked down this comment the last time I posted it, and I believe it was because of this link, so go to newegg dot com and search for product N82E16814130078.)
and while you’re at it, buy me one. Dismarum might like one as well.

The Explosions In The Sky concert was quite awesome, however one of the opening acts was bad enough to make me lose my faith. There is no way that a loving God could have let my ears endure such torturous sounds. Avoid The Paper Chase at all costs, and if you like them, I’ll be praying for you. Eluvium on the other hand was pretty interesting.
Did you take a liking to the Arcade Fire yet?

So when you say “playing the games,” are you implying that macs are not good for playing games? Mostly I spend my computer time listening to the tunes, writing, and otherwise wasting time surfing the interweb. For such simplistic things, would you say it doesn’t really matter which I use? Or is one superior? Sometimes I play kyodai’s hashira game. I think that’s what it’s called.

I wonder that sometimes. Like I said, I found some articles about benefits of twitter. Like, if you were in a store and wanted to know the best video card to buy, you could twitter it out and ideally get several friends’ responses fairly quickly. But more often I’m seeing it for other things. I’m thinking I should mainly use it to promote bands or movies or TD or TD’s coloring contest which you are playing, right? Right?
    Statii? Stati.
Anyway, if you wanted to join twitter, we could just see what happens, and if it’s wholly uninteresting, we can all just stop using it.

I just used some Blistex for a nice change. Isn’t that interesting?

I bought the video card. And one for you and dismarum. And a spare, in case it breaks or I find a homeless man in need of one.

The Paper Chase sounds familiar to me. I wonder if Paste promoted them recently. You realize I’m going to have to listen to them now just to see for myself. It’s like saying “Don’t look over there” and someone instantly looks.

No Arcade Fire yet. I’m too obsessed with the Fratellis. Have you gotten some of the ones I mentioned before? If not, email me your address and I’ll mail you some. Email it to me anyway and I’ll send you out a mix CD.

Macs can play games, but only games that support Mac OS X. Most games are programmed for windows, but a few will work on OS X as well. Any games that you play in a web browser should work just fine. Firefox (aka the holiest of web browsing software) is available for the mac.

In other news, since all mac computers have Intel processors now, they can run windows, which means you can run windows games inside windows on the mac. Apple released a program called bootcamp, that helps you install and configure Windows XP on your mac (I have Vista on mine now), but it won’t let you run both at the same time, you have to reboot your computer each time you want to switch operating systems.

If you don’t play many games, why do you need a new video card?

I’m assuming that you use Microsoft Word to do your writings, there is a mac version of office available, (and a newer one coming out this year) and the student edition is around $150.00. You could also try open office, although I’m not a big fan of it.

Another friend told me to get a twitter account. So I did.
    http://twitter.com/soothsayer
    I’m all twitterpated now.
FYI there is a twitter widget for the Yahoo! widget program thingy.
    http://widgets.yahoo.com/gallery/?search=twitter&x=0&y=0

I’ll get to coloring that n’ there Easter egg.

I hate chapstick, I hate the feeling on my lips. Yet every year, I get a barrage of it around Christmas as stocking-stuffers.

The Paper Chase’s web site has a naked man-ass on the front of it. I’m not a fan of the naked man-ass. I realize, that you yourself, being a female, might enjoy a bit of naked man-ass every now and then, so I won’t speak for you here, or recommend you to visit or avoid their web site.

    I’ll email you now.

You should get a mac. I think you’d like it. I love my little Macbook. I still use a PC for most of my stuff, but if I’m in my living room or out of my apartment, I have the Mac.

I mostly post to twitter using txt messaging. I get most of my tweets that way too. But I have an unlimited text plan, so that helps. If I’m out, I’ll say something. If someone asks a question, I’ll respond. Like the other day with the whole “project managers coffee” thing.

In fact, since I’m going to bed right now, I’m going to send everyone listening a good night message.

I like it because I can pretend people are listening and care. Makes me feel a little less alone in this big city.
