I've never heard of one installing any software automatically when it is plugged in. I'm assuming that you tried resetting the ipod (since you tried everything). :) Does Windows detect it (assuming it's being used on a Windows PC), does it show up in my computer (The iPod itself, not that crazy cd drive thing)? I called Suddensuck and they reset the DVR. Now it records shows, but it loses sound and the image gets all pixel-y and breaks up. It used to only do that on HBO. Now it's most channels. Gr.
