[wait….is that it?]

Sometimes I think I go to sleep out of boredom, not because my body actually craves it. I find that a lot of the time, sleep for me comes out of a lack of interesting things to amuse myself with. It is the very last in a string of options.

I used to go out past the city limits towards this power plant completely surrounded in neon green lights. It’s a surreal thing to come upon - it looks like a cross between an art deco futuristic factory and a very large gas chamber. You can’t actually go up to it due to a security gate and what seems like miles of razor wire fence surrounding the parameter, but it’s large and bright enough to where if you park off the side of the road a ways down, past the eyesight of the guards and the night shift workers out on a smoke break, you get a pretty amazing view. The hum of generators and feeling of electricity mix in nicely with the rustle of grass and that strangely cold breeze that seems to pick up always exactly at 3 am, no matter the season.

I haven’t been out there in over a year and a half.

I’m bored with this now. I guess it’s time for sleep.
