[i am not a social experiment]

Is it just me, or is Hollywood starting to scam major on comic books for their new latest and greatest plot ideas? I have a hankering to see 30 Days of Night, but I have an idea that I’ll be more than disappointed with the big screen adaption. Oh yeah, and Whiteout is now in the works, staring……Kate Beckinsale. Please. Ugh.

I had the unusual experience of having wandered innocently into a room yesterday and having someone who has had a less-than-favorable experience with me completely end a conversation they were having with a mutual friend while that friend was in the middle of a sentence by turning around and walking off away from both of us. Apparently, I am still in middle school and I can still experience the idiocy of adolecent’esque social interactions in my mid-twenties.

People are weird. While I am not a social experiment (something I believe I was taken for as whole, regarding this one particular individual), I think that sometimes it’s interesting to figure out who appreciates what qualities when I am, unapologetically, myself. Maybe “interesting” isn’t the word that should be used. I think “necessary” is probably more applicable, if I’m thinking in terms of long-lasting friendships and/or relationships. I have a tendency to over-analyze things, but again, this is probably a quality that anyone who wants to get to know me should know about.

I totally lost any organization to this post. And I sound really self-centered today. Didn’t I start off by talking about movies and the unappealingness of Kate Beckinsale?

I’m going to go take a nap. I woke up a bit early to write anything that doesn’t just turn into bitching or disjointed rambling, apparently.

Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous.
You don’t want to see 30 Days. It’ll scare you. You don’t like scary movies, buttface.
And I think you labeling yourself “a social experiment” in this situation is only a further product of your over-analyzing and not exactly the actual truth of the matter.
And your last line really doesn’t make any sense, ironically.
Ooh, Kate Beckinsale. Didn’t you see her in Pearl Harbor?
Uh.
I just called you a buttface.

Maybe they were scared that you were about to kick some ass. That’s how I’d look at it personally.
To my knowledge I’ve never really encountered that scenario. I’m either really good at getting along with everyone, or people are too afraid to tell me how much they really wish I would die, or I’m just delightfully oblivious to what is happening around me (probably all three).

Most of the ‘enemies’ that I’ve had in life, and have had to deal with in a regular social setting, have been upgraded to another social ranking (either friend, acquaintance, or ‘I don’t hate you, but I’d just rather not talk to you if possible’); and this has been accomplished through prayer (Matthew 5:44), mild violence, and the united hatred of something greater than the other person. Granted, only one of those methods are decent and acceptable, but I am routinely neither of those things; I am but human, look at this tangle of thorns. The mild violence was incurred by someone who was hurting a friend–something I don’t take well, it was in high school, there was no bloodshed.

People are weird. I’ve never understood why people like to treat other people like crap all the time. I say this while knowing full well that my treatment of other people throughout the years has been less than spectacular at times. It all comes back to pride when you think about it, and that is the worst of all sins for a number of reasons. I often wonder if all people are even conscious of, or feel remorse over their actions toward others. I also often wonder if people think at all.

In other news, I’d much rather see “I Am Legend” even though there is a good chance that the movie won’t be as good as the book.
