The tide that left and never came back is on my mind tonight.
We have so much to talk about, so let’s get started.
First off, with the hilarity:
Our lovely Sean wins seventeen million jane points for continuing to send us the crème de la crème of the random, non sequitur world. A week ago, TD received two–yes, two!–albums by Guido and the Wal-Mart Band.
Now, you may be jealous, and understandably so, but we have plans to upload the albums and stream them directly to you. That hasn’t happened yet, because Team Daria without procrastination wouldn’t be Team Daria at all. I’m tempted to transcribe some of the lyrics for you, but I don’t have time for that now. (See preceding sentence for more information.) Maybe later if you’re lucky.
I can tell you, as I started to listen, I thought, “It’s a wonder they didn’t start off with the Wal-Mart cheer.” But I spoke too soon. Less than three minutes in to the first album, there’s the cheer, squiggle and all. I started having flashbacks from my days as an associate and almost ran my car off the road as a result. Okay, that’s a lie. Partially. But I did have flashbacks and I’m certain my face twitched in response.
So Sean, thank you for sharing with us. From the bottom of our sick, demented hearts, thank you.
Now.
I put a few BIG discussion questions up on the TD&Co. forums. I’m asking you to seriously consider the questions and respond when you have a chance. You can find the thread here. I’m genuinely interested in everything you have to say about it.
Um. Okay. This is a good start for now.
Peace, love, and bands named after major corporations.
