Hear ye, hear ye. Ol’ dismarum’s 25th birthday is tomorrow. She loves her birthday. In honor of her birthday, I suggest everyone search the interweb for the tackiest, trashiest, or ugliest e-card you can find and send it her way at dismarum (at) teamdaria (dot) com. Really, I mean the tackiest one. And if you read this after Monday, send her a belated one. A tacky belated one. Seriously. She’ll luff you forever, if you know what I mean.

There’s a Hebrew word used throughout the book of Joshua and I really, really want to know what it is. Joshua 2:10 is the first place I came across it, and the footnotes always say, “The Hebrew term used here refers to the complete consecration of things or people to the Lord, either by destroying them or by giving them as an offering.” And yet I can’t seem to find this “Hebrew term” anywhere. Suggestions? Help?

Of all my seven deadly sins (because, believe me: I’m pretty much guilty of all of them every day), I think pride is the one that gets me the most. I can admit when I’m wrong or when I don’t know something. I don’t like to admit these things, but I can if I have to (which, of course, is very rare). It’s a little funny, though, that I notice others’ pride all the time. It bugs me. Really bugs me. I want to kick people in the shins and say, “Don’t be so proud, dummy,” but that’s definitely the pot calling the kettle proud. And dummy. I have no idea where this ramble was going. I think it started out eloquent in my head this morning at about seven-thirty.
