[thank you, Jesus]

I scored a new job at an intensive detox unit doing medication management and intervention. I’m also guaranteed a counseling internship and residency, once my certification is complete.

I’m enjoying this victorious moment. Please join in with me.

Uber-mega-double-w00t with chocolate syrup on top!!!

Does this mean that you’ll be rolling in the dough, have health insurance and a 401k?

k - Yeah, that show is pretty cool. =) I watch it on occasion. I’ll be doing behavior and withdrawal crisis intervention. I don’t think I could do the confrontational thing that well. I lack the personality for it (not to mention the credentials). However, I could be caught on film as the almost annoyingly upbeat person that meets the addict at the door of the treatment center. Though, I think I fall in the “sardonic” category (people who work in the mental health field seem to come only in flavors of impossibly optimistic or impossibly cynical) and I don’t believe we’re the type to be regulated air-time. I think we’re kept in the back.

benny - Hah. The pay is awful and will be until I get my counseling certificate. On the bright side, the health insurance outweighs the mental institution’s policy x10 and yes, I do indeed have a 401k. Yay adulthood. And chocolate syrup.
